Type of FSSAI License

1. FSSAI Basic Registration (Form A)

  • Eligibility: Annual Turnover up to ?12 Lakh.
  • Suitable For: Small food vendors, petty retailers, hawkers, temporary stalls, and small cloud kitchens.
  • Requirement: Must follow basic hygiene and safety guidelines (Schedule 4, Part I).
  • Validity: 1 to 5 years.
  • Government Fees: ?100 per year.
  • Required Documents: Applicant Photo, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Address Proof (Rent Agreement/Electricity Bill), Firm Name, Mobile Number, Email ID.

2. FSSAI State License (Application Form-B & License Form-C)

  • Eligibility: Annual Turnover up to ?20 Crore.
  • Suitable For: Manufacturers (up to 2 MT/day), Restaurants, Traders, Transporters, and medium-sized food businesses.
  • Requirement: Must follow Schedule 4 hygiene and safety guidelines.
  • Government Fees: ?2,000 to ?5,000 per year (depending on Kind of Business - KoB).
  • Required Documents: Aadhaar & PAN of Owner/Partner/Director, Address Proof, Partnership Deed (if applicable), COI & MOA (for Pvt. Ltd.), Firm PAN, Mobile Number, Email ID.
  • Layout Plan, Unit Photographs, and Water Test Report may be required depending on business type.

3. FSSAI Central License (Application Form-B & License Form-C)

  • Eligibility: Annual Turnover above ?20 Crore (?30 Crore for Wholesalers).
  • Suitable For: Importers, Exporters, E-Commerce businesses, Large Manufacturers (more than 2 MT/day), and businesses operating in multiple states.
  • Requirement: High-level compliance due to national or international operations.
  • Government Fees: ?8,850 per year (?7,500 + 18% GST).
  • Required Documents: Aadhaar & PAN of Owner/Director, Address Proof, Partnership Deed/COI & MOA (if applicable), Firm PAN, Mobile Number, Email ID.
  • Layout Plan, Unit Photos, Water Report, and Technical Person’s ID & Qualification may be required based on business category.
